I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. Auto Join User to Site they Initially Signed in at and not the base site

    Currently if you sign in at a domain mapped site, it joins the new user to the base site but not the current site.
    e.g.
    The base site is: site0.com
    New user is added to Active Directory (AD)
    new user signs in at site1.com
    they are added to site0.com
    new user now has to be manually added to site1.com

    Would be nice if it remembered its context when it adds the user so that they are added to the site I intend them to be added to.

    • Add custom user metadata from the directory

      The base information required by WP is not necessarily all you are interested in when creating a user from the LDAP directory.

      In our case, we want to get the Employee ID that we then use to query other databases to get additional profile information.

      It would be interesting to be able to set any user metadata at creation time using data from the directory.

      • Bulk add users and auto-create personal blogs as required for each user

        Allow blog admins to bulk add users from the LDAP directory to their blog. If any of those users do not already have WordPress accounts, create a new personal blog for them in addition to adding them to the blog in question.

        Honor the option of create new blog for user in bulk adds. Right now, this feature only works when adding users one at a time, or when bulk adding, will only work for the first user in the bulk add list.

        • Support Single Sign-On when REMOTE_USER environment variable contains user@domain

          I am using mod_auth_kerb for SPNEGO based SSO. This sets the REMOTE_USER to user@domain.

          I have worked around this by adding the following lines to wpmuLdapSSOGetUsername()

          if (strpos($username, '@') !== FALSE) {
          $username = substr($username, 0, strpos($username, '@'));
          }

          Please consider including this in the codebase

          • Multiple LDAP Servers for redundancy

            Allow a configuration with multiple LDAP servers which then would be checked in turns until one is found that replies. This would allow one of LDAP servers to be down (for maintenance for example) without locking out the users from Wordpress.

            • Additional attribute mapping options for blog paths

              LDAP plugin auto creates blogs (and blog paths) according to the LDAP user names.

              For example, my user name is "abc" and my multi-site is "example.com"

              When I first login, plugin creates example.com/abc automatically. In my opinion, LDAP plugin reads a value, such as "blogpath" from the LDAP directory (such as "123") and creates the site as "example.com/123" and assign this blog to the user "abc".

              It is the LDAP administrator's responsibility to add additional fields to the LDAP server, but I think an attribute mapping option regarding to the blog path will be superb.

              • Multisite: settings per blog

                Multisite network feature:

                Move all but the system settings to the subsites and make these accessible to network admins. So each blog on a network can have their own settings (like group authentication and public signup)

                • Add option to auto-create blog site(s) based on LDAP Group memebership

                  When a user first logs in, only auto-create a blog for them if they are a member of a specific LDAP group. This should operate much the same as the Allow Login/Deny Login fields in the Group Settings section.

                  • LDAP Groups can give permissions to different sites.

                    When a user is in the Skyrim Group, they have access to the Skyrim Site, but not to the other sites.

                    • Add the ability to search for usernames

                      Because sometimes you know their name, and not their username. Would be good to be able to search LDAP for their username.

                      • Add an option to disable subscription to Blog #1 after first login

                        When you first login to network, LDAP plugin automatically subscribes user to Blog #1. I think there should be a setting about this in the Admin panel.
